There is a travesty upon us. A challenge to the freedom and "pursuit of happiness" guaranteed us by the Constitution. A challenge we must rise up to, make our voices heard, fight the system, stick it to the man!
The city of Tacoma has recently passed a new ordinance which tightens the restrictions on drug paraphanelia. This sounds like a good idea to the typical citizen, but it is actually a breach on our personal freedom. In this case, the ordinance extends far past actual illegal drug use, to infringe on other irrelevant things. The ordinance makes it illegal to sell or purchase hookahs or any form of water pipe within the city of Tacoma!! I understand the motives for people who are actually concerned with drug use, but look at the facts. In actuality, hookahs are not always used for illegal drug use. They may have that connotation for people, but there's actually a significant amount of people who use hookahs to smoke tobacco (which is still currently legal, who knows for how long..). This ordinance is an attempt to decrease drug use, but its put together all wrong! It extends too far, and is an unnecessary means to pursue the city's goals.

Sis, I must say you're a touch off. Why hookahs will soon be illegal in the specified municipality of Tacoma is beyond me. I see no reason for hookahs to be banned unless tobacco in all forms is banned, so I don't support it. However, you've gone off the smoking deep end. I remember once we were walking together and we passed by approximately 5 smokers, filling their lungs with filth and carcinogens. I, as a moderate asthmatic, coughed partly out of necessity and partly out of my obnoxious nature. You jumped all over me and said "Quit it Justin, smokers have rights too!" Well what right was I infringing upon? I have a right to be able to breathe, as well as a right to be obnoxious... I think that'd fit under both "Life" and "Pursuit of Happiness." What you were really saying was "My/their rights are more important than yours." This is a classic liberal ploy that has been utilized for decades. Roe v. Wade: A woman's rights are more important than her baby's rights. We have no prayer in schools because the atheists supposedly have more of a freedom FROM religion than the rest of us have a freedom OF religion. The Constitutional concept of "Full Faith and Credit" should apply not only to state laws, but to individual rights. Rights of any kind obviously must be restricted in order to compensate for others' rights, but this should not be a lopsided affair. Small parts of each party's right must be sacrificed, but one party should not suffer more than the other. I agree with you on this post. Hookahs should not be banned. But your beliefs extend much deeper into fallacy and must be thoroughly examined. You, my friend, need help.
